UPDATE: Pedestrian Killed in Accident Identified by Police
A Silver Spring intersection was the scene a fatal accident early Tuesday after a man was hit while crossing New Hampshire Avenue.
An elderly Silver Spring man has died after he was hit by a car while crossing a Silver Spring street early Tuesday morning.
Montgomery County Police say the collision occurred at 4:57 a.m. at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Randolph Road.
Investigators say the victim is Tschimid Moshkin, 77, of the 13600 block of Montvale Drive in Silver Spring. Moshkin was crossing New Hampshire Avenue when he was struck by a green, 1999 Lincoln Continental driven by Mark Wesley Chambre, 64, of the 13900 block of Zeigler Way in Silver Spring.

Chambre’s car was southbound on New Hampshire Avenue when the vehicle struck Moshkin.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
