Pedestrian Hit By Two Vehicles Near Crosswalk: Update
Montgomery County Police say the woman suffered serious injuries when a car and an SUV hit her on East Randolph Road.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police say a woman was seriously injured when she was struck by two vehicle.s
The accident happened about 8 a.m. Friday at the intersection of East Randolph Road and Tourmaline Court in Silver Spring.

Investigators say the 26-year-old pedestrian was crossing East Randolph Road southbound near Tourmaline Court. The woman was walking in the area of a marked crosswalk, police say.
A 2005 Ford Taurus and a 2005 Honda Pilot were traveling eastbound on East Randolph Road when, for reasons still under investigation, both vehicles struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Taurus was identified as Amy Gintyryan Alexander, 55, of the 5300 block of Trailway drive in Rockville. Alexander was not injured in the collision.
The Honda Pilot was driven by Mathews Mutale, 49, of the 1200 block of East Randolph Road in Silver Spring. Mutale was not hurt.
The pedestrian’s identity will be released once her family is notified.
