Pickup Truck Plows into Silver Spring Restaurant

A Silver Spring restaurant is unsafe for use after a pickup truck crashed into the building early Monday morning, authorities say.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring restaurant is closed after a pickup truck plowed into the building early Monday morning, officials said.

La Frontera Restaurant at 4217 Randolph Road sustained structural damage when it was struck by the truck before 6 a.m.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesman Pete Piringer, the truck’s driver was trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters. The driver, whose name has not been released, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

A county building inspector was called to the accident scene and deemed the building is unsafe to occupy.
