1 Killed In Shooting At Silver Spring Shell Station: Police
Montgomery County police are searching for a suspect following a fatal shooting at a Silver Spring Shell station.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A man is dead after he was shot by an unknown assailant at a Silver Spring gas station Thursday, Montgomery County police confirmed.
Authorities were called to a Shell station in the 11100 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 3 p.m. for a reported shooting, Montgomery County police spokesman Carlos Cortes said at a news conference.
According to Cortes, a man walked into the gas station and, following a confrontation, shot a store employee. The suspect then fled the scene, police said.

Homicide detectives were at the gas station Thursday night investigating and reviewing surveillance footage, Cortes said.
Police did not release a description of the suspect and have not identified the victim. Authorities were also unaware of a possible motive.

"We're gathering all evidence in order to understand what happened here so that we can apprehend this suspect as quickly as possible," Cortes said.
