Police Release Name of Man Found Dead By Mother
The homicide victim was found dead at a house in the Layhill area of Silver Spring by his mother, police say.

The name of a Silver Spring man found dead by his mother Saturday in the Layhill area has been released by the Montgomery County Police Department.
Detectives were called about 10:47 a.m. Saturday to the 2300 block of Eagle Rock Place for a report of a burglary with a man injured.
Officers found Jonathan Edward Terril Harris, 26, dead inside the residence with obvious trauma to the top portion of his body. The victim was found by his mother, who also lives at that address, police say. The woman then called police.

Detectives are treating the death as a homicide, which has been confirmed by the medical examiner.
The manner of death has not yet been released by authorities.
