SILVER SPRING, MD — Police have released a surveillance photo and a composite sketch of a man who they believe tried to rob a pharmacy in White Oak. Authorities hope that the public can help identify the man — who they say is one of three suspects involved in the robbery attempt on Dec. 8.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., units responded to the Little Acorn Pharmacy located at 11161 New Hampshire Ave for the report of a strong-arm robbery. An investigation revealed that three suspects wearing masks entered the pharmacy. One of the suspects assaulted a male employee behind the counter and demanded prescription medication.
The employee told the suspect that the pharmacy didn't have the prescription medication. According to police, the suspect then demanded that the employee open the pharmacy's safe. When the employee did not comply, all three suspects fled the store.
