Proof That Internet Made Solely for Cat Videos
The AFI Silver Theatre in Maryland will hold the fourth annual Internet Cat Video Festival, expected to draw fans from across the country.

As if a quick scroll through Facebook and other Internet portals didn’t already confirm this, the Internet was designed to share cat videos.
Need proof? The Internet Cat Video Festival will be held Nov. 12 at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring. It has its own Twitter hashtag: #catvidfest.
A Q&A session will be held after the Nov. 12 show with Will Braden, curator of the festival and creator of the “Henri, Le Chat Noir” videos and author of “Henri, Le Chat Noir: The Existential Musings Of An Angst-Filled Cat.” The book will be available for sale & signing in the lobby.

Not only wildly popular as viral videos online, the cat video phenomenon has attracted record-setting crowds “offline,” too. Since its 2012 inaugural show at Minneapolis’ Walker Art Center, the Internet Cat Video Festival has drawn audiences of tens of thousands around the world each year.
The Walker Art Center curates and produces the festival, which is showing in the Washington, DC, area for the first time at the AFI Silver Theater. The screenings are co-presented with Alley Cat Allies, an advocacy organization dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of cats.
