SILVER SPRING, MD — The self-styled pick-up artist whose pro-rape blog inspired international fury has been outed as an unemployed University of Maryland graduate living in his mom’s Silver Spring basement.
Daryush Valizadeh, 36, sparked protests, threats and social media scorn earlier this week when his plans for a worldwide rally designed to unite those believed to be pro-rape drew scrutiny. He said his writings were satire taken out of context by feminists and SJWs.

“ I may be a chauvinist,” he said on Facebook, “but I’m not a rapist.”
The meetups were canceled Wednesday, with Valizadeh saying that the safety and privacy of the men who wanted to attend the weekend gatherings couldn’t be guaranteed.

The self-proclaimed “King of Masculinity” called Montgomery County Police Thursday after receiving death threats from around the world for his stance, reports The Daily Mail.
The British publication had fun with the University of Maryland graduate’s predicament, splashing its coverage with this headline online: Not so cool now! Pro-rape pick-up artist pictured in a sweat-stained T-shirt at the door of his mother’s home (where he lives in the BASEMENT!)
Valizadeh, otherwise known as Roosh V on Twitter, operates a website and blog entitled Return of Kings.
The controversial blogger told police he had received threats from the U.S., Britain and Australia, warning that he would be shot, stabbed or have his house set on fire.
Two Montgomery County officers responded to Valizadeh’s 911 call, the British publication reports, and he then brought out his laptop to show police the storm of condemnation surrounding his views.
Daily Mail Online wrote that it “found him in hiding at the cul-de-sac where he ekes out his vile views on his laptop - and sells ads on his website, which cost $150 a day.”
Valizadeh wrote that his mission is to ”usher the return of the masculine man in a world where masculinity is being increasingly punished and shamed in favor of creating an androgynous and politically-correct society that allows women to assert superiority and control over men.”
