Registration is Open for Fall Student Theatre Programs!

Looking forward to Fall? So are we! Registration is open for The Highwood Theatre’s After School Student Programs!

Whether you’ve been in ten Highwood productions, or you’re considering signing up for your first, the After School Production Company is looking for someone with talent ONLY YOU can bring! We’ve got comedies, dramas, and musicals, and every show will challenge students to grow as performers and achieve more than they thought possible. The first student show of the season will be the Directing Fellowship Musical open to students grades 8 – 12 with auditions taking place the week of August 29th and rehearsals beginning September 19th. The following production will be our Fall Musical open to all students grades 4 -12, and rehearsals beginning September 26th. Many of last year’s shows completely filled up, so register today while there’s still plenty of room! Participation Fee for each session is $500.

The After School Jazz and Musical Theatre Dance Class is a must for students interested in musical theatre. Designed for beginner to intermediate dancers, an experienced choreographer will teach you the necessities to successfully perform jazz and musical theatre choreography. Whether you’re preparing for a dance-heavy show or looking to expand your skill set, this class will leave you feeling confident about your dance abilities and prepared to nail your next audition. This class is open to all students in grades 4 – 12 and will meet on Thursdays from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Classes begin September 29th and will run through November 17th. Participation Fee is $240 (or $170 if you register for the class AND the production company).

The Student Tech Crew is open to students in grades 4 – 12 who will meet regularly to learn about all aspects of Technical Theatre and create the technical elements of Highwood’s Mainstage Season of student and professional productions. Students will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of technical theatre and will get to choose their focus area to work on for each production (set, props, costumes, lighting, sound). Tech Crew members can choose to come one or two days per week: Thursday evenings 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm or Saturday afternoons 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm. The Fall semester runs from September 8th – December 15th, but we offer open enrollment throughout the year, so you can join us anytime! Participation Fee is $80 a month for once a week sessions.
