Save Money And Energy In Silver Spring During Tax-Free Energy Weekend

Shop tax-free on select Energy Star appliances during the Maryland Energy Weekend this month.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Silver Spring residents will get a break from Maryland's six percent sales tax when they shop for select appliances during the Maryland Energy Weekend from February 18-20, a city spokesperson told Patch.

Residents can shop tax-free on select Energy Star appliances, including: air conditioners, washers and dryers, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, standard size refrigerators, dehumidifiers and more.

Energy Star products focus on using energy wisely. The company has helped save more than $362 billion on utility bills and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by more than 2.4 billion metric tons over the past 22 years, according to their website.
