'Shocked, Happy' $2M Lottery Winner In Silver Spring
A Montgomery County floral designer has won $2 million in the Maryland Lottery.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Floral designers are surrounded by greenery all the time — just not this kind.
A Montgomery County floral designer has won $2 million in the Maryland lottery. The 57-year-old winner — whom officials did not identify — bought her Mega Bucks ticket at Long Branch Beer & Wine in Silver Spring.
The winner said that she intentionally bought her ticket at Long Branch Beer & Wine, according to lottery officials. She believed the store was lucky because it had produced several winners.

"I was shocked and relieved at the same time. I’m so happy that I can pay off my bills," she said in a Maryland lottery press release.
The woman said she had won a few prizes with this scratch-off in the past — but never this grand.

The $2,000,000 Mega Bucks is the lottery's second $30 scratch-off, according to lottery officials. There are three $2 million top prizes remaining.
