Silver Spring College Students Honored For Academic Achievements

SILVER SPRING, MD — To shine a light on the academic achievements of college students from the Silver Spring area, Patch shares information provided by the students' families and Merit News.

Jillian Kabik of Silver Spring was named to the Spring 2022 president's list at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. Kabik is majoring in finance and international business.
To qualify for president's list, students must earn a GPA of 3.80 or higher and complete a minimum of 14 semester hours.

The following students participated in commencement ceremonies on May 22, at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania:

• Joshua Daugherty of Silver Spring graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree degree in Finance and a minor in Business Administration.
• Maereg Gebretekle of Silver Spring graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree degree in Theatre.

Sebastian Schwarz of Silver Spring was named to the honors list for the spring 2022 semester at Husson University in Bangor, Maine. Schwarz was enrolled in Husson's Bachelor of Science in Sport Management program. To earn a spot on the honor's list, undergraduate students must complete 12 or more credits in the term and achieved a 3.40 to 3.59 semester grade-point average.

The following students were among the 4,500 undergraduate and graduate students to receive degrees during commencement exercises on May 6-7 at the Georgia Institute of Technology at Bobby Dodd Stadium:
