Silver Spring Man Gunned Down In Prince George's County: Police
Authorities say a Silver Spring man was fatally shot in Prince George's County Thursday afternoon. Homicide detectives are investigating.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring man shot in the Chillum area Thursday afternoon has died, and Prince George's County police say they are now investigating his death as a homicide.
Around 3 p.m., officers were initially called to the 1000 block of Fairview Lane for the report of an accident. Police said that responding officers found a man, later identified as 44-year-old Brian Keith Woods, outside of a car suffering from a gunshot wound.
The Silver Spring resident, who was driving the car, had just crashed into a parked vehicle, authorities said. He was rushed to a hospital where he later died.

Upon further investigation, police determined that Woods was not shot at the scene of the accident.
Detectives say they are working to develop a motive and identify any suspects.
