Silver Spring Ranks In Top 10 Most Diverse Cities In America
The personal finance website WalletHub conducted a recent study comparing the diversity of more than 500 cities in the U.S.
SILVER SPRING, MD — According to a new report by the personal financial website WalletHub, Silver Spring is the fifth most diverse city in the U.S.
WalletHub's analysts compared more than 500 of the largest cities across the U.S. to determine the most diverse cities. They examined socioeconomic diversity, cultural diversity, economic diversity, household diversity and religious diversity.
The researchers categorized each city according to the following population-size guidelines: large cities have more than 300,000 residents; midsize cities have 100,000 to 300,000 residents and small cities have fewer than 100,000 residents.

WalletHub determined these are the top-ten, most diverse large cities in the U.S.:

7. Gaithersburg, MD

Silver Spring also placed No. 1 in "Most Educational-Attainment Diversity." In this category, researchers examined how many people: are without a high school diploma, have high school diplomas and perhaps some collage or an associate's degree, have a Bachelor's degree and have a Graduate or professional degree.
