SILVER SPRING, MD — A sous chef from Montgomery County won the top prize from the Maryland Lottery with $100,000 Extreme Cash scratch-off ticket, according to a release.

The Silver Spring man told lottery officials at their headquarters in Baltimore that he typically buys lottery tickets every week, but this week turned out to be anything but typical.

The man was very happy when he discovered that the $100,000 Extreme Cash scratch-off ticket he bought for $30 at the Latino Market & Jewelry in Silver Spring was a winner. He told lottery officials he plans to use the money to pay off loans.

The Latino Market & Jewelry, which is located at 2505 Ennalls Ave., will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning $100,000 Extreme Cash ticket.

Eight $100,000 top prizes and others ranging from $30 to $5,000 are still available to claim from Extreme Cash scratch-off tickets, according to the Maryland Lottery.
