Silver Spring Victim In Double Homicide In Northwest DC: Police
Police identified a 19-year-old Silver Spring man as one of the victims Saturday night's double homicide in northwest Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — A 19-year-old Silver Spring man was identified as one of the two victims in a fatal shooting that took place Saturday night in Washington, D.C., according to police.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded around 9:53 p.m., to the 1400 block of Girard Street, Northwest for the report of a shooting. The officers found a man who had been shot at the site of the shooting and located a second victim in the 1400 block of Fairmont Street, Northwest a short time later, according to police.
After examining the two victims, D.C. Fire and Medical Services pronounced them dead on the scene and then later transported them to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to police.

Detectives identified the first victim as 29-year-old Luke Whitaker of Northwest, D.C., and the second victim as 19-year-old Zion Hollingsworth-Hayes of Silver Spring.
A reward of up to $25,000 is offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person responsible for each homicide in Washington, D.C., according to police. The total possible reward in this case is up to $50,000.
