SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring woman got lucky during a recent late-day coffee break, winning a second-tier prize on the FAST PLAY High Roller Blackjack game from the Maryland Lottery, according to a release.

The 51-year-old purchased a pair of $10 FAST PLAY tickets at the Shoppers #2366 grocery store located at 4720 Cherry Hill Road in College Park. Choosing the High Roller Blackjack game, which has a progressive jackpot, the woman scratched the first ticket. It turned out to be a loser.

But when the woman tried the second ticket, she discovered a winning Blackjack hand, which gave her a second-tier prize worth $50,000.

“I was shaking like a leaf,” she told lottery officials.

The woman plans to keep quiet about her lottery win, sharing the news with only a few family members. She told lottery officials that she'll put her winnings into savings to pay for upcoming family and educational expenses, according to a release.
