Toddler Survives Fall From Ninth-Floor Balcony In Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD — A toddler escaped with minor injuries Wednesday after falling from the ninth-floor window of a Silver Spring apartment building.

Authorities say the child fell from a balcony at the Château, located at 9727 Mount Pisgah Rd., around 1 p.m.

The child likely landed on bushes or mulch, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer.

When first responders arrived, they found the toddler in the lobby with non-life-threatening injuries, Piringer added. The child was taken to a hospital.
