Day 1 - Saturday, June 27th, 11-5pm @ DwightMess compound (805 Silver Spring Ave): Events are open to the public, admission is FREE. Featuring Special Guest Artists, gallery exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, a modeling session (suggested donation) and exhibitors, you can dig in to indie comics and also tour the compound, which features an extensive comics collection, a rare video collection, Risograph and screenprinting studios.
*Adults &amp; Teens looking for comics outside the mainstream world of superheroes (though we have those books too!) are encouraged to attend.
Day 2 - Sunday, June 28th, 1-6pm @ Third Hill Brewing Co.( 8216 Georgia Ave): Events are open to the public, admission is $10. The&nbsp;Montgomery County&nbsp;250th "Shine Together" Independence Day celebration will be held at Albert Einstein High School on July 3, with festivities running from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Attendees can expect live music to start at 7 p.m., with fireworks scheduled to kick off at 9:15 p.m. Organizers say the start time for the fireworks display&nbsp;may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.Food vendors will be on scene and residents are allowed to bring lawn chairs, blankets and coolers. No pets, alcoholic beverages, or smoking is permitted."Sign language interpreter services and other auxiliary aids or services will be provided upon request with as much notice as possible, preferably at least three business days before the event," reads the county announcement.

July 3rd MoCo 'Shine Together' Fireworks 2026: Kensington 

The "2026 Maryland Fireworks 5K &amp; 10K" will be held at the 95-acre Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Park on July 4, 2026, from 7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m., and will follow a paved route around the park.
The 10K starts at 7:45 a.m., with the 5K following at 8 a.m. Bishop's Events says the race will be held rain or shine.
Organizers said the race benefits the 22 Too Many campaign, which is "dedicated to honoring veterans lost to suicide and raising awareness about the mental health challenges faced by military personnel."
Individuals interested in participating in the race can register up until the day of the event. Fees for the 5K and 10K are $30 and $45, respectively, through June 15 and increase by $5 thereafter.
Shirts are guaranteed to runners registered before June 24. While additional shirts will be ordered for those who sign up afterward, they will be given on a first-come first-served basis.
Awards will be issued for top performers at the post-race ceremony.&nbsp;

July 4th '2026 Maryland Fireworks 5K & 10K': Silver Spring

The Takoma&nbsp;Park Independence Day Committee will hold a parade and evening street party on July 4, 2026, that will strictly stay in Takoma Park.
Residents can begin gathering for the free event at 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Grant and Ethan Allen avenues, but the parade won't officially start until 10 a.m. Festivities will run until 12 p.m.
But, the parade isn't the only event being held. Organizers will also be hosting an evening street party on Maple Avenue, between Philadelphia and Ritchie avenues. The party runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Anticipate live music, food vendors and a mix of family-friendly activities.
This event will not include a fireworks display.

This program is a musical reflection on the American journey. We begin with the quiet, internal yearning of "To Sit and Dream" and "The Road Home," acknowledging that the American dream is a path we are still walking. We confront the realities of our modern world in "The Spaces in Between Us," seeking to bridge the gaps with melody and understanding.
The concert culminates in a vibrant celebration of choral excellence. Through the sophisticated harmonies of "A Quiet Place" and the infectious, gospel-infused energy of "How Good!" and "Unity Song," we prove that our voices are stronger together.
Join us as we celebrate two and a half centuries of history, not just by looking back, but by singing forward—building a community where every voice is heard and every soul finds a home.

This summer we are thrilled to open our doors for a&nbsp;very special music camp. At CPC we believe music is one of the most powerful ways to build what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. called the "Beloved Community"— a place where every voice is heard and every soul finds a home. We invite you to join us and to reach out and invite your friends, neighbors and coworkers. These programs are our gift to the wider community, and we want everyone to feel welcome.
For the Children: "Music Down In My Soul"
We’re offering young singers a unique blend of professional vocal training, choral works, and classic summer camp fun.
Students will spend the week developing their musical skills through choir rehearsals, music games, individual lesson, movement activities, and outdoor team-building experiences, culminating in a final concert on Friday afternoon.
<ul><li>Who: Students in Grades 3–8 (split by age groups).</li><li>When: July 13 – July 17 | 9 AM – 4 PM</li><li>Includes lunch, a camp T-shirt, and a Grand Finale Concert on Friday at 4pm followed by&nbsp;ice cream!</li><li>Fee: $35 per child. (Fee waived for anyone experiencing financial hardship)</li></ul>
