Trump supporter disrupts Leisure World Democratic Club meeting

Bursts into room accusing Montgomery County Executive Leggett of "lies" and "threats"

Last night, after addressing the Leisure World Democratic Club meeting in the LW Crystal Ballroom, County Executive Ike Leggett left the room. A man wearing sun glasses, knit hat and "Trump" tee shirt under his open coat, followed him out into the lobby, then reentered the Ballroom by pushing the doors open and shouting to the crowd, "Ike Leggett just threatened and assaulted me". Shouting "I've been a Democrat for 40 years, but voted for Trump, I told him that he is an elected official and should not "lie" to the people by calling Trump a bully. Yelling, "Ike Leggett said to me, do you want to take this outside? and i said oh you want to beat me up? and Ike Leggett replied "I'll knock your teeth down your throat".

The man was removed from the room by the club President and another male club member.

FYI: At no time, did Ike Leggett or any other speaker utter the name "Trump" in their speeches.

Upon leaving the Clubhouse, the man was retelling his story as LW security officer Tim Naugle took notes. I stood nearby for about 15 minutes as over and over he repeated the same story he had shouted earlier upon bursting into and interrupting the meeting. He did not claim that he had been touched by Mr. Leggett. As he left to go into the Ballroom, Officer Naugle informed the man that he would have to contact the Montgomery County police if he wanted to further pursue the matter. The man asked,"who are you and what are you going to do?" Tim replied, Leisure World security and that he will file the report "with the office"

In view of this startling event in the midst of the highly charged political atmosphere, for the safety and security of those attending Leisure World Democratic Club meetings, it is strongly suggested that the Club employ security (either Leisure World or a private company) for forthcoming meetings.
