Used Book Sale at Silver Spring Library Set for Oct. 11
Buyers can find great deals on books, DVDs, CDs, sheet music, as well bake sale items.

A used book sale, bake sale and two, free, family programs will be held at the Silver Spring Library, 8901 Colesville Road, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11.
Organizers said this will be the final sale at the current facility, which will close in the coming months in advance of the opening of the new library at the corner of Wayne and Fenton streets in 2015.

At the book sale, you will find thousands of used books in categories such as fiction, history, art, mysteries, romance, literature, cookbooks, biography, children’s, manga, etc.
In addition to books, the sale will offer CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes and sheet music. Hardbacks will sell for $2, large paperbacks for $1.50 and small paperbacks for 50 cents. Specially priced books will be on sale, as well. Several categories of fiction hardbacks, CDs and DVDs will be on sale at two-for-the-price-of-one.

The two family programs scheduled for the event are:
· “Wacky Science,” Joe Romano’s new magic show at 10 a.m. Family program especially for elementary-age children; and
· A Forensics Workshop at 1 p.m. for middle school students. Participants may examine bones and attempt to identify an unknown person. The workshop will be presented by the National Museum of Health and Medicine.
The programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Silver Spring Chapter, and the Silver Spring Library Advisory Committee.
