Victim Shot to Death Along Trail in Briggs Chaney: Police
The state medical examiner says the 20-year-old man from Southeast Washington died from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Southeast Washington man whose body was found on a trail in the Briggs Chaney area was shot to death, authorities said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Tuesday that Williams’ death was a homicide due to a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Montgomery County Police have identified the victim as Sheldon Williams, 20, of the 2000 block of Naylor Road in Southeast Washington, D.C.
Just after 10 p.m. Friday, dispatchers received a 911 call reporting shots fired in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard. Officers who responded found no evidence of a crime.

A passerby saw Williams lying on the trail in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard just before midnight on Friday. The passerby contacted a private security guard working in the area, who then called 9-1-1.
Detectives ask anyone who may have information about the death to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070.
