Washington County Defeats Montgomery Blair in the Western Co-op Finals, 5 to 2

Washington County came out blazing against Montgomery Blair Friday night during the Western Co-op final at Rockville Ice Arena. Before the close of the first period, Washington County led 4 to 0, outshooting Montgomery Blair 12 to 1.

Things did not improve for the Blazers at the start of the second period as Washington County scored their fifth goal in the first two minutes. Finally, Montgomery Blair made it onto the score board five minutes into the second period as Sophomore forward Rudy Carson flew down the ice to score an unassisted goal.

Although Montgomery Blair's defense was able to stop the relentless attack by Washington County's forwards for the rest of the game, tallying up more than 40 shots on goal; their efforts were not enough. Carson was able to score one more unassisted goal during the third period but Washington County held them off to win 5 to 2.
