Woman Killed In Suspected Hit-And-Run In Silver Spring
Montgomery County police are searching for the driver of the SUV, who they say struck and killed the woman.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police are searching for the driver of an SUV they say struck and killed a woman Friday in Silver Spring.
According to police, the incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. in the 10500 block of Colesville Road. Officers responded to the location after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
At the scene, officers found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe a black SUV with tinted windows was involved in the collision and left the area. The vehicle is believed to have damage to its right front bumper and fender.
According to police, the SUV was last seen about 1:17 p.m. traveling on Colesville Road toward New Hampshire Avenue.

The Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
Police have not released the victim's identity pending notification of next of kin.
