Woman Seriously Injured In Silver Spring House Fire: Officials
Montgomery County fire officials are trying to figure out what caused a Silver Spring house fire that seriously injured a resident.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County fire officials are trying to figure out what caused a fire that gutted a Silver Spring home and seriously injured a resident Saturday evening.
At about 6:20 p.m., crews responded to the 2500 block of Holman Ave. to find a single-story home engulfed in flames. Hoarding-like conditions in the home made it harder for crews to battle the blaze, said Pete Piringer, a fire department spokesman.
More than 65 firefighters battled the blaze and were able to rescue a female resident trapped inside the house. Officials said the woman — who was in serious, but stable condition — was taken to the hospital for treatment.
