Zumba Lessons, Concerts, Spicy Food: Summer Fun In Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD — Downtown Silver Spring is poised to be a destination for fun, family-friendly events all summer long, thanks to a robust calendar of activities. From outdoor workouts to live musical performances, there's plenty of activities in Silver Spring to enjoy.

Here is a list of activities that are just brimming with excitement:

Silver Spring Thursday Night Concerts — (June 20-Aug. 8)
Is there anything better than jamming out to live music on a summer night? Probably not.

During the free summer concert series, you can enjoy music from touring artists and local favorites. From Motown to rock, the weekly concert has music for everyone.

You can check out the Silver Spring Thursday Night Concerts every week from 7 to 9 p.m. at One Veterans Place.

Zumba — (June 4-Sept. 24)
It's Zumba time!

Washington Sports Club will be leading the workout on the Fountain Plaza every Tuesday night. Presented by Adventist Healthcare, these Zumba classes are a great way to get in shape and feel good about yourself. Honestly, you'll forget that you're even working out!

Zumba takes place on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

Nando's Spicy Saturday Night Concerts — (June 8-Sept. 28)
Presented by Nando's, you can dine al fresco and watch all your favorite bands perform on the Fountain Plaza Stage. Live music and spicy food are available on Saturdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

TGIF Downtown Street Party — (July 12-Sept. 13)
Wind down after a long work week during the TGIF Downtown Street Party on the Fountain Plaza. There will be music, games, beer, and sangria stations. DJ Damon will be playing your favorite tunes.

The schedule of music genres is below:

• June 14: Join us for the Blues Festival! We will not have a DJ that evening.
• July 12: 90s Hits
• August 9: Latin Music Mix
• September 13: Top 40

The party is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
