• Sangfroid Distilling new facility, cocktail bar in Takoma Park sets sight on winter opening (bethesdamagazine.com) — A long-vacant historic bank at 6905 Carroll Ave. in downtown Takoma Park is being transformed into Sangfroid Distilling's new cocktail bar and production space, now aiming for a winter opening. Backed by a $150,000 state revitalization grant, the project preserves key architectural details, adds a 24-seat bar and mezzanine event space, and is expected to bring new nightlife energy and jobs to the neighborhood.
• Montgomery County Closes Record $143.9 Million in Affordable Housing Loans (mocoshow.com) — Takoma Park is among several Montgomery County communities benefiting from a record $143.9 million in county affordable housing loans this fiscal year, helping create or preserve nearly 2,000 income-restricted homes. The funding supports both new construction and preservation projects across the county, targeting renters and buyers with low to moderate incomes.
