• The Weekend Round-Up: October 2-4 (kidfriendlydc.com) — Takoma Park's streets will turn into a big neighborhood party Sunday as the city hosts its 44th annual Street Festival from 10am to 5pm along Carroll Avenue and Carroll Street. Expect three music stages, more than 150 artisan vendors, community groups, kids' activities, food options, and plenty of chances to start your holiday shopping close to home.
   

• WSSC urges essential water use only as 'critical' electrical work at Potomac plant continues (bethesdamagazine.com) — Residents of Takoma Park who get water from WSSC are being asked to limit use to essential needs while critical electrical repairs continue at the Potomac filtration plant. Drinking water remains safe, but the utility warns supply is tight and urges shorter showers, less laundry and dishwashing, and no outdoor watering until the advisory is lifted.
