Maryland State Fair Enters Final Weekend: Dates, Tickets, What To Know

The Maryland State Fair returns Thursday for its third and final weekend, with rides, food, animals, concerts and entertainment.

TIMONIUM, MD — There's only one weekend left to catch the Maryland State Fair.

The fair returns Thursday for its third and final weekend at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. Fairgoers have through Sunday to catch the midway, fair food, livestock and horse shows, agricultural exhibits, competitions, concerts and other entertainment.

The final weekend also includes professional bull riding and cowgirl barrel racing Thursday night, concerts Friday and Saturday and family entertainment Sunday.

Here's what to know before heading to the fair:

When Is The Maryland State Fair Open?

The final weekend runs Thursday, Sept. 10, through Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, located at 2200 York Road in Timonium.

Fairground gates are open:

Buildings, except the Exhibition Hall, are open from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

The Exhibition Hall is open from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

The carnival midway opens at 5 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday through Sunday and operates until close.

Fair admission does not include carnival rides.

What's Happening During The Final Weekend?

The Battle of the Beasts Professional Bull Riding and Cowgirl Barrel Racing event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Horse Show Ring.

The fair's concert series continues Friday with Congress The Band at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Clutch with JD Pinkus takes the stage at 7 p.m.

Sunday's entertainment includes the Pop Princesses Show at 11:30 a.m. and a K-Pop Dance Party at 2:30 p.m.

The fair also features its Chase Drone Show at 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Throughout the weekend, fairgoers can find livestock and horse shows, 4-H and FFA competitions, agricultural attractions, food and other entertainment around the fairgrounds.

One More Thing For Parents

The fair has an unaccompanied minor policy in effect throughout its operating hours this year.

Anyone younger than 18 must enter with a parent, legal guardian or chaperone who is at least 21. One adult may accompany no more than six minors.

Parking & Directions

Paid Parking: Limited parking is available at the fairgrounds for $15 per car. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Parking is first-come, first-served, and fair admission is additional.

Free Park & Ride Parking: Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Park and Ride lot on Greenspring Drive. Guests can cross the light rail tracks and enter through the Light Rail Gate.

Free Kaiser Permanente Garage Parking: Free parking is available on levels 4 through 7 of the Kaiser Permanente parking garage on Greenspring Drive. Guests can also enter the fairgrounds through the Light Rail Gate.

No Left Turns: Maryland State Police will not allow motorists to make left turns into the fairgrounds gates during the fair. Drivers should approach the York Road gate from the north, from Padonia Road, or the Timonium Road gate from the east, from York Road.

Public Transportation: The Fairgrounds Light Rail Stop is a short walk from the entrance near the Cow Palace. The MTA No. 93 bus also serves the Timonium Park and Ride/Light Rail Stop.

Uber/Lyft: Rideshare pickup and drop-off are at the Greenspring Drive Park and Ride lot, with access to the fairgrounds through the Light Rail Gate.
