Diana Mitchell Joins NKF-MD as Development Manager

The Lutherville-based National Kidney Foundation of Maryland (NKF-MD) has named Diana Mitchell its development manager.

In addition to executing the Baltimore Kidney Walk and Santé: Spoil Your Palate fundraising events, she will supervise the Foundation’s activities and events volunteers.

“I look forward to bringing my professional experience, creative energy and knowledge of Baltimore to help cultivate new partners for NKF-MD, while spreading kidney awareness throughout the metropolitan area,” Mitchell said.

With more than10 years in the non-profit sector, Mitchell most recently was coordinator of community safety programs for the Charles Village Community Benefits District. In that capacity, she organized successful events, such as National Night Out for multiple neighborhoods, as well as various projects through the Mayor’s Youth Employment Program. 

She previously managed volunteers for the Domestic Violence Center and Greater Homewood Community Corporation, and organized events for Dick Gelfman’s Ride Across Maryland and the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN™) in Fairfax, Va.

A member of the Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU) GIVE Class 2012, she currently serves as a GIVE board advisory member on the marketing and communications committee.      

Having earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and political science from Towson University, Mitchell now is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration at Walden University.  She recently earned a Delegate’s Scholarship for continued studies in non-profit management.
