NKF-MD Adds Three Board Members

The National Kidney Foundation of Maryland (NKF-MD) has elected Michael Jones, Rick Mattox and Rodney H. Scaife to its board of directors. 

Jones:

“My goal is to support NKF-MD’s overall business strategy, by creating a marketing strategy/implementation plan,” Jones said. “One of the goals is to get our story out to the public, to our patients and to our corporate leaders.” 

Now serving as director of global branding for W.R Grace in Columbia, Jones has over 15 years industry experience. The Philadelphia College of Art graduate has won several Advertising Association awards and ADDY awards

A Roland Park resident, Jones has participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training endurance sports training program and volunteered for the American Cancer Society and House of Ruth.

Mattox:

With 25 years industry experience, Mattox is a program management director with Lockheed Martin in Middle River. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a master’s degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University.

Mattox currently supports the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education and previously served on the United Way of Central Maryland’s business partnership board. A husband and father of four, he resides in Bel Air.

Scaife:

“The National Kidney Foundation of Maryland serves many key purposes and I believe in its mission,” said Scaife, who serves on the board’s strategic planning committee. “I also have known individuals who have been affected by kidney disease and thus understand the impact.”

After earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Delta State University, he completed his executive education studies at Cornell University, focusing on strategic human resources.

His professional career has spanned over 20 years and taken two paths; 15 years in various sales and operations leadership positions with Keebler Company, Pepsi-Co and Footstar Inc. before moving into the human resources discipline.     

As vice president and Chief Human Resources Officer for Aerotek® Inc. in Hanover, Md., Scaife currently is responsible for all aspects of human resources and leads the development of the company’s human resources strategy and strategic direction of its human capital initiatives. 

 Scaife serves on the board of The Metropolitan Chorus in Arlington, Va., the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources Executive Advisory Council and Bowie State University’s College of Business Board of Advisors.

The Elkridge resident also is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, the National Football League Players Association and a life member of the Delta State University Alumni Association.
