Timonium's Menchey Music Named a Dealer of the Year by Yamaha

. has been named “Institutional Dealer of the Year” by the Keyboard Division of Yamaha Corporation of America, the world’s largest musical instrument manufacturer.

The award was presented to the keyboard retailer at the 2013 NAMM music products show held in Anaheim, Calif., January 24 – 27, 2013. They join nine other retailers honored by Yamaha at the event.

Yamaha recognized Menchey Music for their tremendous focus to institutional business, such as schools, conservatories and performance venues, which resulted in many sales.

Accepting the award from Yamaha Keyboard division top management were Menchey Music representatives Wes Diiorio, Joel Menchey and Gordy Martin.

“Menchey Music has exhibited unfailing enthusiasm for Yamaha piano and keyboard products and a commitment to making their great organizations even better, each and every year,” said Bob Heller, Yamaha Corporation of America, National Sales Director, Keyboard Division.

“This award is particularly meaningful to us since we made the commitment years ago to put our resources behind the Yamaha name, and the market has responded positively,” said Joel Menchey, president of Menchey Music. “Through our focus and the support of Yamaha, we have developed a strategy for finding the perfect solution for our institutional partners in music education.”

Menchey Music has long been an ambassador of Yamaha and Yamaha products at many levels. The dealer uses Yamaha products almost exclusively in their piano/keyboard division, and Yamaha instruments are core components of their school service division with band and orchestral rentals and sales. In 2006, Menchey Music was awarded “Independent Retailer of the Year” by Music Inc. Magazine.
