Baltimore County Seeks Mays Chapel School Names

Residents are being asked to submit suggestions for naming the new school.

Baltimore County Public Schools want residents to help name a new elementary under construction in Mays Chapel.

Names for the school maybe submitted starting Monday through Oct. 18 by sending an email to the communications@bcps.org. Residents are allowed to submit more than one name, according to a news release.

"A goal for this school is for it to be a truly community-oriented school, one in which collaboration with parents, teachers, students and the community is an important and beneficial hallmark,โ€ Steve Coco, principal of the new school, said in the release. โ€œIโ€™m looking forward to hearing from voices across our area through the process of considering and selecting just the right name for our new school."
