Falls Road Reopens In Baltimore County After Utility Issues
For several hours Falls Road was closed Monday due to an issue south of Padonia Road.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Authorities said Falls Road reopened Monday night following an hours-long closure. Several factors contributed to the road being closed, including a tree and utilities.
From about 5 to 10 p.m., Falls Road was closed at Fallscroft Way.
Maryland State Highway Administration officials attributed the closure as of 5:20 p.m. to utility problems.

A live wire was down and on fire in the area, WBAL reported, noting BGE was responding to the scene.
Earlier, WBAL reported a brush fire had broken out along Falls Road south of Padonia Road. At 5 p.m., the TV station's news chopper was above the scene reporting that some residents were using their garden hoses to try to put out the flames.

Before 6:30 p.m., Baltimore County public safety authorities said a large tree had fallen across Falls Road between Old Lyme and Padonia roads.
Officials said Falls Road had reopened as of 10:10 p.m.
The region was under a red flag warning Monday. The National Weather Service issued the warning, effective from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., to signal that fires may quickly grow out of control and be hard to contain due to dry conditions and gusty winds.
During the warning period, all outdoor burning was discouraged. People were advised to be careful that any lit items—like cigarettes or matches—were completely extinguished before disposal.
