Carol Zimmerman joins Alzheimer's Association
Award-winning leader to serve as Eastern Shore Development and Outreach Coordinator
SALISBURY, Md. – The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Maryland Chapter has named Carol Zimmerman its Eastern Shore Development and Outreach Coordinator.
Bringing 40 years of business and non-profit experience, Zimmerman will seek to increase public awareness of the Alzheimer’s Association and help implement its mission and services on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
“Every year, Alzheimer’s disease touches more and more families,” Zimmerman said. “I am so pleased to have an opportunity to put my public relations and development skills to work for such an important cause – ending Alzheimer’s.”

Zimmerman recently relocated with her husband and son from Arizona, where was managing partner of Zimmerman Public Affairs, a public relations and marketing firm. She previously worked as development director for a private school and was chief of staff to the Mayor of Tucson.
Recognized for her creative excellence, Zimmerman has won numerous Addy awards from the Tucson Advertising Federation, as well as the Federation’s Woman of Excellence Award. She also won two Primus awards from the Public Relations Society of America, as well as the YWCA Women on the Move award.

Active in the community, she served on the boards of the Central Arizona Project, Tucson Aids Project, Shalom House, Komen Foundation, American Youth Soccer Organization Region 580 and Tucson Girl’s Club, and was the local and state chair of the Arizona Women’s Political Caucus.
She also served on the Mayor’s Task Force on Children’s Mental Health, the Tucson Task Force on Homeless, Pima County Charter Committee, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce’s Public Policy Committee and City of Tucson Citizens Water Advisory Committee, and was publicity chair for YWCA’s Women on the Move Steering Committee.
