Maryland State Fair opens with a 4-H/FFA Breeding Swine Show at 9 a.m. at the Swine Barn. There also will be a dairy breeding goat show; an Angus Beef cattle show; a breeding sheep show; and a chocolate championship, as well as evening entertainment. Rides and games will be available on the Midway, and the Maryland Foods Pavilion will offer a variety of items.  Admission is $8 for adults; $6 for seniors; $3 for children ages 6 to 11, and children 5 and under are admitted free.
