Guest Speaker at The Park School: Susan Engel, Director of the Program in Teaching at Williams College

What Children Should Learn in School?

Susan Engel, Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Director of the Program in Teaching at Williams College, leads a lively discussion on Thursday, November 3 at 7:30pm in the
Blaustein Lecture Hall about the purpose of education, what it means to be well educated, what schools should teach, and how we know when a school is good. Her thoughts on “putting the child back into school,” “playing to learn,” and the importance of curiosity have appeared in several publications, including The New York Times and the Journal of Child Psychiatry. Engel will sign copies of her book after the presentation.

Park School is located at 2425 Old Court Road between Falls Road and Greenspring Avenue.
