Marc's Promise Program. Recently in the Dulaney HS newspaper, a group of 297 students surveyed reported: 1/3 have had a drink at a party, more than 40% have had a drink someplace else, 25% percent had been in a car with a drunk driver, 42% of the licensed drivers have driven after drinking. This self-reported student response displays adolescent risky behaviors affiliated with underage drinking. Risky behaviors that ripple beyond the student; family members, friends and communities.
Neil Goldberg, the father of Marc and a freind who was a passenger in the car the day Marc's life was lost, will share with parents and youth their personal accounts of this painful incident. Parents will learn how to talk with your teen and make an agreement to overcome these risky decisions. Adolescents will override good decision-making to "Not Get Caught." Open this discussion now with your teen, before it's too late and help them to understand their actions and behaviors have consequences beyond themselves.
