In 2001, the state of Maryland passed anti-discrimination for gay, lesbian and bisexual people but fell far short in gender protections that effect the most at risk gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals. Gender Rights Maryland was formed this year to make sure those basic human rights – the right to a job, a place to live and fair treatment in public spaces become law for all genders. Our presentation will give you the chance to see how this legislation is important to all LGBT people and to give your input about how it becomes law.
The media impressions about transgender people range from Dancing With The Stars, to beatings at McDonalds. This meeting is a place where your questions about real transgender lives in today's society can be answered. Please mark your calenders and plan on joining us.
