Sculptor Marty Long transforms trees into animals, birds, mascots, or whatever his creativity desires with a chainsaw and a three-foot-tall log.ย ย He will create artwork from Friday, Aug. 27, through Monday, Sept. 6, in the State Fair Park, at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays; 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on weekends, and at 11 a.m.; 1 p.m.; 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5. The sculptor will auction his creations to benefit the State Fair Scholarship Fund on Wednesday, Sept. 1, and Monday, Sept. 6, beginning at 4 p.m.
