Why Go: โBeeโ that way with this 30th Annual Honey Harvest featuring beehive demonstrations, honey extraction, candle dipping, and mead making (honey wine). There are also Civil War reenactments, early American craft demonstrations of wool spinning and blacksmithing. Kidsโ activities including: petting zoo, puppet shows, face painting, crafts and an educational book fair. Apple cider, hotdogs, honey, crafts, and live music round out the festivalโs offerings.

Why Go: ย Oh the places youโll go with Thing 1 and Thing 2. Come out and see the TheatreworksUSA Broadway adaptation of this charming musical. The Cat in the Hat hosts the show while Horton hears a Who in little Jo Jo and we all cheer for the Sneetches. This adaptation is especially for young audiences and it features 13 actors and dazzling production values.

Why Go: Shhhhโgather around the campfire to load up on s'mores and make a craft while preparing for the Great Snipe Hunt. Mysteries of the forest surround this mystical outing. Itโs Howard Countyโs own creature of legend: The Howard County Snipe. Participants are asked to bring a large brown paper bag and flashlight for this catch-and-release event. Designed for those ages 4-7 and their parents, older siblings are welcome.

Why Go: It's one giant show-and-tell from hundreds of unique craft makers from all over the region. At this fair you will find crafts, including functional and decorative pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, wood, metal, furniture, home accessories, photography, and fine art. For the kids there is a fairy tale where you and your children can participate in the theatre. Put on elaborate costumes and transform into actors and actresses as the storyteller weaves a tale.
