GREAT ESCAPE: Treat Dad to a Summer Concert at Ladew Topiary Gardens
Plan now for Father's Day, coming up soon on June 19.

Ah, Ladew Gardens.
Youโve seen the whimsical topiaries carved into the shapes of swans and dogs. Youโve experienced the quiet tranquility of the slow-moving pond, the idyllic footbridge and the seasonal flowers in bloom.
On Fatherโs Day hydrangea, impatiens, clematis, dahlias, roses and the lovely rhododendron will be in bloom at Ladew. Daylilies, iris and ageratum are June flowers that will be blooming, too.

The Crawdaddies will treat the audience to a live, Southern mix of musical jambalaya from 6 to 8 p.m. Take some Louisiana Cajun beats and add zydeco and blues. Then mix up some rock, Americana and ska, and youโve got the thumping tunes of The Crawdaddies.
The concert will be held in the Great Bowl, a central location in the gardens. Bring your own picnic, blanket and chairs, but no pets, alcohol or athletic equipment are allowed. You can buy refreshments as well.
Tickets are available at the door, and the price includes access to the gardens as well as the music. Members are $7, adults are $15, seniors and students are $13, and children are $3.
And if the flowers are dancing in the rain, but youโre not so sure you want to be? Call Ladew at 410-557-9466 and press 5 to learn about weather-related event cancellations.
