Heather Gable Joins the Alzheimer's Association
Accomplished nurse to serve as education coordinator
Timonium, Md. –The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Maryland Chapter has hired Heather A. Gable, DNP, RN, LNHA, RAC-CT® as an education coordinator.
Bringing 16 years of nursing experience, Gable will oversee the implementation of quality education programs to health professionals, family members, volunteers and the general public in Allegany County.
She also will work to create greater public awareness of the Alzheimer’s Association and its resources among health care providers, community organizations and faith-based organizations in this community.

“My overall goal for this new position is to expand the Alzheimer’s Association’s presence in Western Maryland by making community members aware of this devastating disease and supporting those who are diagnosed as well their caregivers,” Gable said. “I also want to reach out to providers to support their need for resources and training.”

long-term and acute care, charge nurse, registered nurse assessment coordinator, staff development coordinator, assistant director of nursing, quality assurance coordinator, nursing home administrator and consultant for a long-term care rehabilitation vendor.
After earning associate’s degrees in both nursing and general studies from Allegany College of Maryland, Gable earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing, master’s degree in nursing administration and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree – all from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Nursing. She also was certified as a licensed nursing home administrator.
Active in the industry, Gable currently chairs Frostburg’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Assessment Committee and serves on numerous councils, work groups and advisory groups for the university.
She also is an expert advisory board member with Goodwill Horizon Industries, treasurer of Maryland Council of Directors of Associate Degree and Baccalaureate Nursing Education, a member of the Maryland Action Coalition Academic Progression Committee and a volunteer Basic Life Support instructor with Western Maryland Health System.
