MULTIMEDIA: Rob Fahey Jams Out at The Still

Best known for writing and performing "Raised on the Radio" with the '80s band The Rayvns, the 59-year-old performer hasn't lost a step.

Most of us remember the '80s classicย Fast Times at Ridgemont Highย for Phoebe Cates'... red bikini.

But before Brad Hamilton (Judge Reinhold) is caught ogling her from the bathroom, there is a scene in which he gives his newly minted Buick a bath. It's the same car he spends an entire summer working odd jobs in order to pay off.ย

Forย Rob Fahey, he remembersย Fast Timesย for this scene. The car wash scene was scored by "Raised on the Radio," a song he wrote and performed alongside the bandย The Rayvns.ย

On a quiet night atย , Fahey strums away, playing covers and throwing in a few originals. He's a Baltimore native plugging away at live shows, both solo and with a trio band.ย

He's watched the music industry change over the decades. He laments the days long gone when people who loved music bought records, instead of downloading MP3s.

"People today don't even know who they're listening to," Fahey said over a Newport cigarette while on a break. "I remember when album cover art, it told a story about the music."ย

Fahey's latest CD Trust Me, I Do This All The Time tells the story of a man who's been through the highs and lows of being in the spotlight. The cover depicts a small silhouetted man walking along an empty road under a crescent moon.ย

You're listening to "Die For You," track 7 on his album.ย
