Police ID Man Found Off Seminary Avenue

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD - A man who was found wandering off Seminary Avenue knocking on doors Wednesday has been identified, police said.

After authorities asked the public for information about the man, they have since said that his prints identified him as Bernie Smith, 67, with no known local address.

Anyone with information about Bernie Smith is asked to call the Cockeysville precinct at 410-887-1820.

PREVIOUS REPORT - A man who appears to have a cognitive disorder was found Wednesday evening off West Seminary Avenue, according to police. Authorities are asking for help identifying him so they can help him return home.

At 5:22 p.m., the man was knocking on doors in the area of Fieldspring Court and Seminary Drive, police said. He was not able to articulate who he was or why he was there, officials reported.

Medical personnel said he was in good condition but seems to have a cognitive disorder that may be a form of dementia.

He is described as a light-skinned black man who has brown eyes, a full black-and-gray beard and mustache. The man may be in his early 60s and is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds. When found Wednesday afternoon, he was wearing an orange polo shirt, khaki shorts, a pink baseball hat and white high-top shoes, police said.
