You Subsidize Leftist Anarchy

Most Americans are blissfully unaware of the most sinister, subversive component of the Economic Opportunity Act.  The War on Poverty gave taxpayers’ money to “community” groups in order to encourage them to agitate against the status quo.  In a sense, America declared war on itself, and funded leftist groups to do the fighting.

The War on Poverty also gave taxpayers’ money to so-called community groups like ACORN and Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation. Over the years, ACORN received more than $79 million in federal funding.

The federal government still hands out huge grants to left-wing groups to subsidize their efforts to take away our economic freedoms, yet today, amazingly enough, federal funding of leftist groups is barely even controversial.
