10 Towson Students Named 2020 Carson Scholars
The Towson students will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship in recognition of their academic and humanitarian work.
Towson, MD — Several Towson students received the honor of being named 2020 Carson Scholars. The scholarship program recognizes students who have a track record of academic excellence and participation in community service.
Students in 4th through 11th grades were eligible for the honor, and they had to be nominated by a current educator. Only one student from each school could be nominated.

- Patrick Droney, Grade: 11; Calvert Hall College High School
- Patrick Eskildsen, Grade: 9; Loyola Blakefield
- Daniel Melia, Grade: 11; Towson High School
- Catherine O'Connor, Grade: 5; Rodgers Forge Elementary School
Carson Scholars must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service.
Recognized Carson Scholars have renewed their Carson Scholar status by maintaining high academic standards and a strong commitment to their communities.

- Christina Battaglia, Grade: 12; Notre Dame Preparatory School
- Micah Ferguson, Grade: 12; Notre Dame Preparatory School
- Macie Hakim, Grade: 11; Towson High School
- Makenna Hakim, Grade: 12; Towson High School
- Jessica Lobell, Grade: 12; Carver Center for Arts and Technology
- Anna Myers, Grade: 9; Notre Dame Preparatory School
Carson Scholars receive a $1,000 college scholarship award, an Olympic-sized medal and a trophy for their school.
Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and humanitarian qualities without regard to financial need, ethnicity, creed or religion.
