COCKEYSVILLE, MD — An arrest was made Thursday in connection with a girl who was abducted while on her way to school.
The Baltimore County Police Department did not name the man but did indicate the agency would identify him after he appeared before a court commissioner.
A release issued by police said officers responded to Cockeysville Middle School just before 8 a.m. after a student told authorities that she had been abducted.
The girl said she was walking to school when the man identified himself as a family friend and convinced her to get into his car, according to police. The student was later driven to "multiple locations" before he dropped her off at school.
Police did not specify where the man had driven the girl, or if there were any familial ties between the pair.
It's unknown what charges are being considered in the case.
