Family-Owned Eatery Officially Opens New Restaurant (patch.com) — Towson diners now have a new option as Lib’s Grill opens its latest location on West Pennsylvania Avenue, serving steaks, seafood, and craft cocktails. The family-owned restaurant, already established in Perry Hall, Bel Air, and Maple Lawn, is expanding its footprint while offering generous daily hours tailored to both weekday and weekend crowds in downtown Towson.    

2. Summer at the Center 2026 arts festival is a reflection of America (baltimorefishbowl.com) — Towson residents can look forward to Towson University’s month-long “America 250: Voices of a Nation” arts festival, running June 11–July 11, 2026 at the Center for the Arts. With theater, dance, music, visual art, film, and free community projects, the festival highlights Juneteenth and Pride Month while showcasing Towson faculty, students, alumni, and guest artists from across Maryland.    

3. Eviction Prevention, Food Inaccessibility the Focus of Day Trips: Community Connections Visit to Baltimore County (maryland.gov) — State housing officials came to Towson on June 2 to hold community roundtables on eviction prevention and food inaccessibility, directly engaging local leaders about Baltimore County needs. The visit also highlighted major state investment in redeveloping the nearby Pikesville Armory into a community hub, tying housing stability, food access, and workforce development to Towson-area residents’ futures.    

4. LifeBridge Health names new Carroll Hospital president, COO (thedailyrecord.com) — A longtime Towson University–connected healthcare leader is taking over as president and COO of Carroll Hospital in Westminster later this month, bringing deep experience in Maryland hospital operations. Brian Cawley, a Towson University MBA and advisory board member, will guide the LifeBridge Health facility’s next growth phase, with a focus on patient-centered care and community outreach that could influence services used by Towson-area residents.    

5. Congress pressures Apple to keep first unionized U.S. store open (cultofmac.com) — Towson residents face the looming June 20 closure of the Apple Towson Town Center store, the first unionized Apple retail location in the U.S. Forty members of Congress are pressuring Apple to keep it open or, at minimum, give Towson employees the same transfer and severance options as workers at other closing stores, amid accusations of union retaliation.
