Over more than two decades with Exelon and Constellation, Fortunato has held numerous leadership roles, including managing proprietary trading, leading short-term analytics, and directing fundamental market analysis. He currently analyzes global and domestic economic trends and their implications for the company.

“Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ed is deeply committed to faith-based leadership and service within the Archdiocese of Baltimore,” says CBNB President Gregg Landry. “Since relocating to Maryland in 2012, he has been an active member of the Catholic community, serving on the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s Board of Financial Administration and chairing

Partners in Excellence Scholarship Program, a vital Archdiocesan ministry providing need-based scholarships to help low-income families access Catholic education.”

Fortunato’s broader commitment to service includes involvement with local ministries supporting individuals in need and advancing educational and community initiatives, reflecting his dedication to living out the values of faith, stewardship, and service.

“Through this work, Ed has played an important role in expanding educational opportunity and strengthening Catholic schools and communities across the region,” Landry notes.

Prior to joining Constellation, Fortunato served as Vice President of Natural Gas Trading at Merrill Lynch Global Commodities and as a Senior Energy Trader at Edison Mission Energy. He began his career trading oil, natural gas, and other commodities.

He holds an MBA with high honors in finance from Boston University and a BBA from Baruch College. Originally from St. Finbar Parish in Brooklyn, New York, Fortunato now resides in Ellicott City with his wife Sarah, their son Hank, and their dog Dozer.

The Catholic Business Network of Baltimore is an independent networking group whose purpose is to provide an environment for individuals to increase their faith and grow their professional lives. Founded in 2010 by a small group of Catholic business professionals looking for more meaningful networking opportunities, CBNB has grown to be one of the largest networking organizations in the Baltimore Metropolitan area.

In addition to developing meaningful business relationships that will help to enhance their professional success, CBNB members enjoy access to a variety of opportunities to live their faith through community service. CBNB also supports Catholic education in the Baltimore community, providing annual scholarship awards to two disadvantaged area youth attending Catholic high schools and supporting Catholic schools through the Catholic Community Foundation.

Tickets to the Catholic Leadership Breakfast are $40 for CBNB members and $60 for non-members. For more information, visit the event page: https://www.cbnbaltimore.org/event/2026-leadership-breakfast/
